Great quality for the price. Definitely worth the money. Will definitely buy more.

Arrived as advertised with all parts present. Sporran itself and hang chain very durable and reliable, large enough to carry normal pockets' worth of items. The lanyard-style clips on the other hand are not. After only about a month of wearing they bent beyond the ability to hold the sporran in place, and had to be manually bent back into shape; after a second month they could no longer be bent back into proper shape and had to be fully replaced.

The images featured for the product aren’t correct, so at least I actually received the sporran. It’s very cheaply made and appears to be something obtained from a third-party retailer like Shien/Wish yet being sold at a mediocre price that it can pass to be seemingly moderate quality. The size is way too big for me, though I do tend to be in the smaller range with an ≈84cm waist.

This is a starter sporran, no doubt. The clips for the belt and chains are weak, they will break or come off. I had to secure in a pinch with small zip ties and will replace with better clips. The leather is hard and some of it is covering cardboard or something. You will hear the tassles banging as you walk, but could be softened. The pouch was just large enough to hold my smartphone, wallet, smokes and a lighter. If you need an inexpensive sporran that you don't plan using often, this is good. Just keep in mind you may have to do some work to it

Ok to be clear. it's a well made, good looking functional sporran. meets my expectations. I did pitch the chair clips fir something stronger.but the goal is an affordable sporran that can take a besting and keep my flask close to hand. it is not a full dress sporran. any of the complaints you may read seem to be a wee bit over critical.again, for a daily wear, and being used for what it's made for, thus one works very well...also, for you craftsmen that need a base sporran that you can design to your specific clan this is the way to go...yep, it's a good deal.

First, a fun anecdote: a friend told me that the difference between a kilt and a skirt was that a kilt includes a sporran. I responded, "So, you take a skirt, add a purse, and it becomes manly?"Despite this minor logical fallacy, I find this sporran quite satisfactory. It's fairly obvious that neither the sporran itself nor the included strappings are made of genuine leather, which would typically be viewed as a detriment, but when worn in humid conditions, can be a positive boon. It looks and feels real enough, yet doesn't carry the clear and present danger of molding or mildewing after a day or two of wear. The size was actually more than I'd expected, so it can comfortably carry a wallet, phone, dice (yes, I'm a nerd who plays D&D and carries dice at all times), and manages to accomplish all this while giving a slimming look to the sort of thighs that would routinely be found on an American who wears a kilt. Along with this, the understated design is great for both dress and casual applications. All told, I'd recommend this sporran to anyone looking for a practical, entry-level costume piece. Finally, for the record, I say the difference between a skirt and a kilt is that one doesn't have to explain that a skirt is a skirt.

Wow! I was very impressed by how quickly item was received--a full week before expected!--and I couldn't be happier. Very nice, sturdy, serviceable piece with plenty of room. As many reviewers have stated, there is a very strong chemical smell to the leather, but having dealt with these kinds of items before, it's a pretty common complaint, fades away pretty quickly with use, and should not be a deal-breaker (if you need to wear it immediately after receiving, you might want to reconsider, but if you need an item for regular use over time, it'll be fine). Chain belt is extremely long and I can't imagine a waist it wouldn't fit; your only problem will be shortening it up, which is much better than the alternate of trying to figure out a way to make it longer--and even shortening the chain is a non-issue, since it's about as simple as tightening an ordinary belt (you could even remove some links to make it more tidy but the bit of surplus chain does not distract from the look). Even the tassels, which I assumed were going to be the weak point, turned out to be very well-made and firmly attached. They'll probably curl up a bit if you get them wet, but even the most modest amount of care should keep them in good shape for many years to come. For roleplayers and reenactors: this is the one you don't have to worry about spilling your drink on! I don't think the leather's waterproof but it's pretty tightly sewn and the flap protects your gear on all sides. It's a tough little item. What more can I say? Good item, good price, great shipping. It won't be your dress sporran but it will be the one you wear most often and get the most use of.

For $12, this is a great deal. It looks just like the picture - it is basic, to the point, and functional.I think it is mostly real leather, kind of stiff - and some parts are synthetic I think. The chain is kind of long, as other reviewers noted, but it is easily adjusted. I use it to for quick trips out of the house - it fits a small wallet and my smartphone. I get compliments on it, because I guess it is kind of funky and unusual to see a woman with a sporran - but it works!

This sporran was just what we needed, a simple, sturdy and inexpensive sporran that would "work" if we left it plain but could take some customization as well, which we did - I liked this option much better than some over-decorated sporrans that only kind of matched the look I wanted. Plus the belt actually fit much larger than expected, so we had to take it in a bit (NOT a bad thing!). I think we'll be purchasing another in the near future to decorate differently, and this one is an ideal sporran to customize and make your own, but even not customized it's nice and simple enough to serve its purpose well. :)
