I bought this in the 2nd week of September, 2023. My lawn tractor was used for fall cleanup (which is a lot for my 1 acre), and then it was used for about 4 mows this Spring. You can see the picture. It's already worn. This is made of low grade metal that is not sufficient for its purpose. DO NOT BUY THIS.East of installation is irrelevant. I have no idea why people even comment on this. This has nothing to do with the product, and everything to do with your mower. On my mower, this part is a one-person job and done in about 5 minutes (if you've done it before). The bummer of all this is that they are on quick shipping, and thus hard to resist when you are in a bind and must use your mower. My advice is to pay attention to your steering. If you notice that hitch in the steering, or variable resistance that is unusual then you should inspect your pinion and bearing. Doing so will allow you the time to wait on the shipping of a genuine part rather than being in a bind like I am because the steering is completely shot (well, I can turn left :) ). I can't wait until next week and thus must try out another 3rd party manufacturer. :(

Perfect fit. Both the bushing and gear. Took 10 minutes to install and now my mower steers again.

Both pieces were the exact same as OEM. Takes about 5 min to remove OEM parts and another 5 min to install new parts. Steering is fine again.
