This product is described as a "replacement" seat. A "replacement" should have the same form, function, and capabilities as the item it replaces, yet this product doesn't. My original Bobcat seat has a drain hole for water and the seat "pan", or structure, is steel. This seat has no drain hole and the seat pan is plastic.Bobcats and similar equipment pretty much live outside. When it rains - they get wet. The original seat, and this one, have contours in the seat for water to drain back to a depression at the intersection of the seat base and the seat back where water can drain. Except with this seat without a hole, it can't drain, it can only collect. The seat isn't hinged so you can't tip it forward to get the water out, either. So that's a capability the original seat has that this one doesn't have.I use my Bobcat mostly for snow removal in the winter. Sub-zero temperatures are not uncommon and plastic tends to get brittle in cold temperatures. So while it may flex when it's warm, it may very well crack instead in cold temperatures. Depending on the location and severity of the crack, that could render the seat basically unusable, whereas a steel seat would be fine. So that's another capability this seat doesn't have."One star seems harsh" you say. In my opinion the seller of a product is responsible for the description of the product they're offering. Between the verbiage and the photos, a customer should know what they're buying. This seller chose to not mention either the plastic seat pan or the lack of a drain hole, and the photos were more concerned with the seat dimensions and bolt pattern spacing. So I dinged them two stars for a poor product description. (Maybe they're hoping buyers will say "Okay, it isn't like the original but hopefully it will work". Except what happens when it fails prematurely?)I also took one star for the lack of a drain hole and one star for the plastic instead of steel pan. That's a bigger issue, but I can't rate the product lower than one star.Interestingly, there are other sellers on Amazon selling a similar seat with no drain holes and made of plastic for less money. I "paid-up" thinking I was getting a higher quality seat; except it wasn't...
