I got this today and set it up right away. The variable speed is a great feature. I do a lot of work with plastics and PVC, so slowing the disc down helps reduce melting the plastics. The disc sander is perfectly flat and has absolutely no wobble to it. The hook and loop is a great feature and allows quick change of grits. The motor has little torque, but it does have a bit of a flywheel affect that helps it keep up if you apply too much force to the material being sanded. It is very functional. The same can be said for the 3" wheel which has a separate motor and controls. The speed control is actually shared by both motors. This will take up less room on my bench than my previous disc sander. Highly recommended.
