I upgraded my wrangler with silicone raidiator hoses new radiator and water pump I used the hose clamps that Mishimoto provided So I was suprised to find a puddle of antifreeze under the jeep in less than a year those worm gear hose clamps had become loose So there is a real reason why the factory installs spring clamps they will stay tight through cold and heat because they have spring action not a worm screw So it`s thesetype of hose clamps from now on

The "nominal size" is the OUTSIDE diameter of the clamp (unexpanded), not the inside (as shown in the diagram), nor the best size (mid way between min and max clamp ID) for a particular hose OD. For larger hoses this does not make much difference because your hose OD and clamp OD is still within its operating range. HOWEVER, for smaller diameters like my 19mm this is a deal breaker (see photos).I ordered these 19mm clamps for 3/4" hose (O.D.) on my current engine build; waited about a MONTH for slow shipping from UK; then found that there was NO way to get these clamps on my hose. The ID of the 19mm clamps was about 15.6mm and even full "open" wouldn't fit. So bottom line was; I delayed my engine build for a month waiting for these clamps (difficult to find), then found them to be about 3mm too small because the diagram of "nominal" diameter and chart of (min/max) was misrepresented. So four things to consider: one - the "nominal" diameter (at least for my order of 19mm) is OD of clamp not your hose OD (like it should be); two - these clamps are produced and shipped from the UK and standard shipping will take close to a month; three - these clamps are expensive (my four little clamps were $14); four - these (as advertised) are Heavy Duty, which for larger diameter and higher pressure hoses is great but maybe just a bit overkill for things like 1/2" vacuum lines, lol. For instance a standard 50mm (2") clamp has an opening force of 410 N which is almost 100 lbf !!!

I followed the advice of another rating that the dimension in the chart is the outside diameter. This was not even the case for mine. I ordered the 4 x 40mm and the overall outside diameter of the clamps I got was 36.85mm.I gave two stars because the item shipped faster than expected and it does seem like it is good quality. I just don't think I can use this smaller size.

Replaced the worm drive clamps on oil return lines that were seeping. The screws were loosening and because the hose was only 1/2”, the clamp wouldn’t make a tight seal totally around the hose. These work by compression and seal the hose TOTALLY.

I ordered these hose clamps to replace some stainless worm screw clamps that were cutting I to my radiator hoses. They were 47mm and my hoses were 50mm. They were tight I was able to get them on by squeezing them with a pair of channel locks and they compressed the hose on the fittings very well. I liked that they came in a small pack of 4 and not a giant pack of 25. They have good spring action and I am happy with them. They seem just as good as OEM quality.

I love these constant force clamps, as they grow and shrink with temperature cycles and help your plastic cooling system parts and rubber hoses live longer. Plus, with the right tool, they are super fast to install and remove in the pits. Thanks to this seller for having all the odd sizes available! Beats going to the dealer.
