I used these to drill a hole in the front of my John Deere tractor bucket so that I could mount a trailer ball. That way I can use the tractor to move trailers back and forth around my yard. The metal I was drilling through is about an inch thick. I had already drilled a 1/2 inch hole, so I was going to enlarge the hole for the ball I needed to insert was 3/4. It was slow drilling with the first one of these bits I used. I finally gave up and started in with a second one of these bits and was able to get through it. I was using oil on both the bit and the hole I was drilling. It is done, but was not easy.

These bits work as well as a good USA bit but at a fraction of the price. If you do mean stuff to metal, a nothing beats fresh drills. With these I don't hesitate to grab a fresh one.Highly recommended.

I was drilling through a school bus bumper aprox 1/4 inch steel. It performed beautifully. I touch up sharpened it every hole but one bit cut 4 holes perfectly with just a light sharpening. I definitely recommend these.

Used for making holes in 3/16 steel sheet. Used bit at low speed, oil, and 5/16 pilot hole. Cut 50 holes and the bit still has sharp edges and a sharp point. Took approximately 15 seconds per hole with this bit using a drill press. Two unused bits remain in the three bit package. I don't know how the smaller bits will fair but, I recommend the 5/8 size with a drill press.

Good price on pack of three standard bits. Good quality in hard size to find locally. Used to drill 2"×2" square tube's to make receiver mounts for vice and winch. Worked well.

I have used many drill bit brands over my 30 year career in fabrication. These stood up nicely. I drilled 20 holes in 1/4" steel flat bar. I used a Cordless drill with a 1/4" pilot hole. I never touched the bit and used no cutting oil. I ordered the 3 pack because I was not sure they would hold up but still have 2 brand new bits for another project.
