Installed 2 months ago. Works great. Use an easy tap to adjust temp. Intuitively easy to change modes. Love the backlit display, only when you touch it.

This aftermarket replacement looks slightly different, but functions exactly like a new thermostat minus the erratic behavior of our malfunctioning unit. Hopefully, with just using a touch and NOT pushing on this replacement unit, it will last for many years.The OEM Dometic thermostatics are notorious for "going wonky". I suspect that is because the owners push on the control buttons instead of just touching them. We bought our camper used and when the previous owner was demonstrating the function of the heat and air-conditioning using the thermostat, he was pushing really hard. So, it's no surprise that that same thermostat began to malfunction. Sometimes it was non-responsive to touch and other times a single, light contact would send the setting zipping 20 degrees up or down.As far as instructions. I HIGHLY recommend that you head over the the "John Marucci" YouTube channel and watch the video titled "Dometic Thermostat Replacement – Step-By-Step". This will walk you through the process step by step. It's actually an easy DIY in my experience.Some folks replace the Dometic single sone with the MicroAir thermostat, but that's over 5 times the cost of this Sanluo RVT06 unit.
