I bought this for my brother for his upcoming hike in Patagonia I have the woman’s version of this coat. Hands down the best rain coat for this price range. It has proven to be water proof and it is light weight. I would highly recommend.

Since I wear glasses I needed a rain jacket that would hang over my forehead. This certainly does that, excessively in my opinion. Even with the hood drawstring tightened the hood is large. This can make wearing the jacket a bit uncomfortable but it will certainly keep your head dry. Other wise I find the inside pockets too deep to easily retrieve a items put there. It will keep you dry, which is its primary function, but be aware of the issues.

ZERO breathability.Got this because I needed a beefy waterproof jacket for hiking that didn't break the bank, and one good thing about this jacket is it feels well made (if not intelligently designed).The problem is, while the waterproofing held up under moderate rain, I ended up completely drenched in sweat. This thing does not breathe AT ALL. My ears felt hot after just a couple of minutes of walking around with the hood on. And no one can convince me the hood adjustments weren't designed by a sadist. Want to adjust the length of the hood so it doesn't drape over your eyes? Too bad, best you can do is tighten it so it wraps around your forehead (further sealing heat in). And yeah, it has pit zips, but you can't really use those in a downpour. After 30 minutes of standing around/walking in it I was drenched in sweat, and that was with the front zipper open! Definitely not suited for any sort of moderate or intense physical activity, much less cross country trekking with a heavy pack.This would make a great outer layer for ice fishing or sitting around in freezing cold not moving much. Thats pretty much the only use case for it.The fact that this is being sold as a *lightweight* rain jacket seems insane to me.

This is a well-made, very functional jacket that I'm liking a lot. My only quibbles - very minor - are that the hood is just too voluminous, and the exterior side pockets ride a little high.The hood engulfs your head! I haven't worn this in the rain yet and I'm guessing I'll be glad it's so roomy, but in ordinary usage it's a lot of material to deal with around your face.Regarding the pockets, the openings feel just a tiny bit too high for my average-length arms. This might not bother others at all - it's really personal preference. On the up side, they are excellent pockets.Neither of these issues would have prevented me from buying the jacket had I had a chance to try it on first, and in fact I just recommended to my wife that she buy one too. I just point them out in case it's useful to the maker.
