We have a Bernie & Phyl's lift top coffee table that snapped one of the springs. A snapping spring on a piece of furniture is very scary! These are just a little too tight so I added a 1/8 -inch quick link and it works just fine! I also added a steel picture-hanging wire through the center of each spring like they do with garage door springs to avoid any future damage or injury.
