Made out of light weight material, which is forgivable based on the price. However the welds look like they are straight out of high school shop class. One of the ends is held on by a small bead of weld. The other side has slag hanging off which prevents the tong from grasping the crucible. Clearly there is no QC because they just painted and shipped them. Will try to get a replacement and I will update if I get something better.

These are nice! I use a 6kg crucible (these look like I can go one larger)(maybe) and the width of the closed handles makes it easy to pour. I couldn’t build them for this price! (My labor is expensive)

My biggest crucible is a 6KG and this holds it pretty well. This is more for pouring a crucible, not pulling it out of the furnace. I use a different tool to remove the crucible and then this to pour it. Best tool I could find without spending big.

This is supposed to make pouring from my 1and 3 kg crucibles easier than tongs. The one thing I wish they'd added was a retention tab so the crucible remains in place when halfway inverted. Also, the loop on both handles doesn't slide up and down, but is fixed, and therefore useless with any crucible smaller than 3 kg size.It's lightweight, but I'm not sure how long lastingly durable such lightweight metal will be.

These crucible tongs are perfect for the crucibles that I have used so far, any crucibles that are too big for these tongs may be too heavy for a single person to pour. I will probably buy another set in the future!
