The original one that I removed had plastic studs that fit into the tailgate. The product pictures showed studs, however the one I received had none. It was completely flat and adhesively taped on the back. The installed appearance looks good. My original Ram emblem was peeling paint inside the emblem, hence the replacement. For the price, I am satisfied.

The OEM emblem you take off will likely have plast posts or clips that slide it holes on the tailgate to assist with staying in place. This one is just flat back and has tape to affix to the tailgate. I read all the critiques of people saying the tape did not stick longterm, so I added some thicker 3M double sided spongy tape and it's working well

My 2008 Ram 2500 original emblem was smaller size, this emblem is much bigger and looks great. I'm so happy.
