The profile was too slim. Nuts had to be removed from the adaptor to get a secure connection. 1 fell apart the other didn't work

These are female to female RS232 adapters. They work fine and they seem fairly well made. I find the mounting pins on these actually hinder more than help. I went ahead and removed the pins because they were actually blocking my ability to insert a male adapter with no spacing for the pins. That went fine except that the metal casing comes off with the pins. Thankfully it still worked without it but I feel like that could be designed a little bit better.Still, it DID work after a slight modification and it's a good price point as well. So I think as long as you're fine with the screw pins or are fine with removing them, it works fine.

I used this to connect a digital mixer with it's RS232 to a USB cable that had a male RS232 on the other end. Worked perfectly, no issues or hiccups.

Putting between cables works but the nuts contact the nuts on equipment preventing insertion into the connector on equipment. The nuts could be removed but the ground shell would fall off. Wire could hold it together but it needs a screw to hold it on equipment or the weight of the cables will pull it out.Get the correct end on the cable. Is this adapter for extending cables?How to rate it? It works between cables but not to gender change at equipment.

I researched this item extensively and ordered what I thought I needed for an electronic issue on my boat. Turned out that when I put all the cables together I really didn't need it, but I will use it eventually!Thank you very much
