Tecmojo are doing something right. I've been lucky enough to review several of their items over the past year and I've been pleasantly surprised by most of them. This rack shelf is no exception. I've just installed a 4U wall mounted open rack for a home lab and I needed a shelf. I was thinking about a fixed 2U model but was hadn't found the right option yet when I came across this sliding 1U. The ability to work in various depths means that I won't have an issue with my 14" rack. The build quality is great and the airflow looks good with plenty of perforations in the shelf itself. In my case the sliding aspect is a real bonus. I wanted this for the bottom of my open rack and it means I can get everything setup nice and cleanly and then just slide everything back in. For this price you could easily find a fixed rack, so a sliding option means you really are getting value for money. I used to have to pay as least twice this for customer set ups.

I'm using this shelf for my flight case rack. It's very sturdy, beautiful, and adds some considerable weight to the case but is very solid, which I prefer over light weight. There are a lot of slots which can be used to affix items and help keep equipment cool. All the mounting equipment you need is included which I really appreciated, for both a typical rack (bolts and rack nuts) as well as a rail mount with just bolts making installation super easy. The rails glide smoothly and it can hold a surprising amount of weight, in my case not much is needed but I am confident in this drawer, overall I'm very pleased with its function. At the current sale price of ~$40 this is a great value, especially given how solidly it's built!Overall I think this is a fantastic buy and is suitable for shallow depth racks. Very short travel sized racks like mine may need minor modifications to fit the rails.

I installed this shelf in my StarTech 12U rack. I am kind of going off label for this product, as I was unable to use the back posts since my rack is over 20" long. That said install was generally easy. You do need to put the rails in first as the instructions point out, because they are basically notched so the shelf can fill your full rack width. The shelf itself is stable, and the open air design allow for air flow even when the shelf is tucked away. I am currently using this when I need place to put a single board computer down to test and want it close to the network switch. So far a nice addition to my rack and homelab setup.
