Awkward to climb out of water. This ladder sways with the waves and does not allow a firm grip when climbing onto boat. Not a true ladder but does make climbing back into boat much easier than with no ladder at all. You do need upper body strength and something to steady and grab ahold of other than this ladder to exit the lake.

We bought one of these for boarding our rented dingy after snorkeling. It worked nicely. We added a second one 7 months later for the next trip, perfect.
