This works fine for stopping my fence gate from swinging open. I wish I got a longer one so it would be even more into the ground but for the price, this one was great. The longer ones (24 in) were almost double the price. I just mounted this one a little lower on the gate. Works great.

This is a good quality product. The metal bar is quite sturdy. Unfortunately the drop was not as long as we needed it to be. Even with the top bracket and bottom bracket installed almost on top of each other, it didn't meet the ground for our fence door.

Works just as expected to hold my shed door open. Was very easy to install.I also like that the bolt is only a 1/2” in diameter. My local home improvement stores only sold these in 5/8” diameter and I felt like that was just a little too heavy duty for a shed door. This one is perfect.

I haven't installed this yet. I purchased along with weld on hinges for a swing gate I'm building. It's a well built drop bolt that will work perfectly with my design.

A double swing gate at the bottom of a sloped driveway imposes some rather specific problems… the cane bolt locks the gates in normal fashion when closed but when swung open the gates swing straight but the driveway continues to slope. This creates a huge space beneath the open gate and the driveway. That’s where these cane bolts come in! They are LONG! Extra length can mean extra wobbly if the material is too weak but these are strong strong strong! With a few holes drilled into the concrete these bolts properly secure tge gate closed or open! Exactly what I wanted and the black coating protects them from the elements! They look and work great!
