I think this replacement part for my Jet 14 inch bandsaw actually works. It was a loose, sloppy fit though, so I had to apply some UHMW slippery tape to the sides so it wouldn't rack in the slot. I'm old and weak now so the installation was difficult. If you have weak hand strength I would strongly recommend having a friend come over to help. I would love to buy a new high end band saw but who can afford that? My wood shop is a hobby shop so I find some satisfaction in keeping my old machines running.

I suspect this would be fine for some. For me, it didn't work. My Jet 14x band saw, which this is made for, it turns out, had a modification to have a quick release lever used to more easily change blades. The problem on mine was a previous owner managed to strip the threads and the square nut so they were no longer usable. When this didn't fit, I started trying everything I could think of...making this not returnable.One of the things that I discovered is that, unlike the Jet, the nut and threaded rod are metric. My quick release contraption uses SAE threads. By the time I figured that out, this was so far past being returnable! On the bright side, it allowed me to figure out the problems I was having and it gave me direction to solve those problems.I had to give it 3 stars because it just didn't work for me. I didn't give it 1 star because it felt solid and I'm pretty sure it would work decently for a bone stock saw.
