This is a replacement handle for an inexpensive 16 mm round carbide lathe tool with an original wooden handle that broke. I am glad to have a reliable handle for this tool.

I like this tool for the length, ideal for the bigger carbides. But they only take round bars! I should have noticed that, however, a bit of time spent on the grinder rounding off the square tang paid off. I recommend you buy lead strips or shot to pack into the handle to give it weight or balance. It makes a big difference

the handle is a bit short and light, and you have to set the tool rest far away from your project in order to rest the straight part of the gauge on it. I've only used it once, it worked ok.
