I get buggy bands every year for protection from mosquitos while gardening or walking in the woods. I usually wear one on each wrist in the garden. For walking in the woods when mosquitos are really bad, I wear one on each wrist, one on each ankle, and one as a hair tie (while other people are covered in chemical sprays). Buggy bands always work for me. They're Deet free, no chemicals, and the bug repellants are lemongrass, citronella and geraniol which I have no problem with. I'm glad to replenish my supply for the coming summer. These are individually wrapped in the packaging. The packaging had no smell but when I opened the package the smell of the oils was really strong. These are more attractive than the usual coil bracelet as they look like friendship bracelets. They're supposed to last 350 hours and in my experience I can reuse the bracelets for a lot of hours during bug season. I'm stocked up for the summer and mosquitos be warned!

I got these for my kids for this Spring and Summer so that we don't get bitten. So far they seem to be working really well and we like how they look more like friendship bracelets than normal bug repellent bracelets. The way that they look more like an actual piece of jewelry made my tween nearly teen daughter much more agreeable to wearing them. She would wear the others too because she hates bug bites but these look so normal that she was even more okay with it. Time will tell how they work when the bugs really come out this summer. I also am excited to try them near the river, but that will have to wait until the summer.

Slightly different variety of color combos than shown in product image but each bracelet is unique from the others

Took these mosquito repellent bracelets on a camping trip, and they worked surprisingly well. No strong chemical smell—just a light, citrusy scent from the essential oils. They’re adjustable, comfortable to wear, and didn’t feel sticky or irritating on my skin. The individual packaging is a nice touch, keeping them fresh and easy to toss in a bag or pocket. They also work beyond just wearing them—I wrapped one around my backpack strap and another on a stroller, and they still did the job.If you want an easy, DEET-free way to keep mosquitoes away, these are a great pick. Plus, they look way better than slathering on bug spray!

I'm a bigger person, and I always wonder how one-size-fits-all products will really work for me. Happy to report that they fit! My wrist is about 7.5 inches, and there is plenty of length to accommodate larger wrists for a comfortable fit. In fact, they even worked on my ankles, although just barely. My ankles measure around 10 inches, so it won't work for anything larger than that, practically speaking. For my ankle, I just looped one of the two straps and then made a knot with the other one to keep it secure. For my wrist, just putting the two straps through the small loop gives it a snug fit and you don't really even need to tie it. Keep the little resealable bag they come in, so you can store them to reuse. It claims you can use them for 350 hours. These bands could probably even be reused after 350 hours by adding your own citronella essential oil or neem oil.

I ordered these because I’m a fan of the buggy bands that look like telephone cord bracelets. I wanted to give this different style a try. I like how these leather-like bands are slightly more attractive and discreet. They don’t look like bug repellent bands and can be worn more like a piece of jewelry, yet still do the job of repelling mosquitoes! Just like the other style of buggy bands, these bands aren’t magic and an occasional mosquito can still get to you even with the band on. I use this in conjunction with other mosquito repelling efforts, such as tiki torches and lanterns if worn at home. But the bracelets do help repel some mosquitoes from coming near you while wearing them, especially near the site the bracelet is on. I usually wear one on each wrist to increase a greater effective radius. They also come in a variety of colors and the nice resealable individually wrapped buggy band packaging. I didn’t care for the boxing/packaging it arrived in though. Upon opening the box holding the bracelets, they were in two rows attached with very sticky glue strips. It was difficult to get them detached; the glue kept sticking to the individual bracelet bags and ripping off the paper/cardboard it was attached to. Very messy removal process. Onto the bracelet itself…The leather-like braid design is aesthetically pleasing and I like that it’s adjustable. Some of the bracelets arrived rolled in a circle and some were smooshed in the bags without a designated shape. The ones smooshed in bags were a bit misshapen upon opening and needed some handling to keep a rounded shape. I have a smaller wrist and on its tightest adjustability, it’s a bit loose. However, I believe it’s meant to fit loosely and if so, it works as advertised. It has long ends or “tails” once tightened. I cut them off because it was too much excess just dangling. You can tie it shut on your own while it’s on your wrist or tie it while off and slip it on your wrist, if your wrist is small enough. I was able to slip it on after tying it, but I could see it being difficult to tie it once it’s on. Very lightweight and thin, which I prefer. It’s a nice looking band, effective enough at what it’s intended to do and I like the overall subtle and stylish “adult” unisex design that comes in multiple colors. I would probably wear this one out or to an event if I’m wearing something nicer versus the slip on telephone cord bands, which are more kid-friendly and casual. I found the leather-like bracelets more difficult to put on with more steps than the telephone cord ones though and you get a lot less quantity for the price. Overall - this particular style is nicer looking and feels higher quality in materials and design and I appreciate that about them, but I found the plastic telephone cord buggy bands a better value, more convenient and easier functionality. I have both the telephone cord slip on bands and these adjustable braided bands. It’s nice to have both designs on hand for different occasions and circumstances!
