I wish there was an inbetween rating I could give this. I think three and a half stars is the true rating here. While I appreciate that this is a semi-integrated headset, which isn't as common, there could be some things done better.The first thing I noticed is there is a grease film over everything in the bag. I'm not sure is this is just from contact with the bearings, or they did it as rust prevention, but it wasn't fun having to clean everything. I've bought many other headset bearing kits that do it better. Then there is the bearings themselves. They don't move very well and it's because of the grease used. I don't consider it high quality. The bearings come pre-packed which can be a good thing for many people so I won't necessarily knock if for that. But for me personally, I want to use my own Mobil 1 synthetic. Plus, I want to be able to easily inspect the bearings. Now, I have to take it apart for both of those reasons. But again, for some, this actually might be preferred.The kit is indeed complete, so that's nice. They give you a washer and rubber sealing plug for the stem cap. They didn't have to and I think that's what pushed me to go four stars over 3 since there's no half point system here.

This is one heavy headset. Much heavier than sealed type bearings headset. Out of the box, everything was smeared in grease including the top cap.Both the cups that house the bearings have visible gap through which you can see/lube the bearings. I wish that gap was smaller or non existent. It just opens up possibility of water ingress. As a precaution I smothered everything with heavy dose of grease before installation. After the installation handlebar rotated reasonably smoothly but there are far smoother headsets out there at the same price.On the positive side, the dust cap and top cap are well made. Its the bearings that look suspect to me.
