It has 2 grooves, a slightly longer scarf and a light ball point. If your serger calls for a 15X1 needle and is breaking threads, the 2nd groove on this needle may solve your problem. Perfect for multi-purpose sergers that do the coverstitching, overlock and safety stitches. If your serger takes a flat shank needles, then these needles will fit your serger. Needle System : ELX705-SUK Ball Point (Same as SY2922 & 2022) One side of the shank on these needles is flat and the other is round. Organ ELX705-SUK Ball Point needles are available in following sizes. Please select your size. Size 11 (Metric Size 75) Size 12 (Metric Size 80) Size 14 (Metric Size 90) Lower size numbers are narrower or thinner needles used for lighter materials. Higher size numbers indicate a needle of thicker diameter, used for heavier materials. One of my serger machine books recommended Organ brand needles. I have used Organ needles on my Juki sewing machine, as well. They have worked very well. Change needles frequently to avoid skipped stitches.

I love these needles. I have a hard time finding ballpoint needles for my serger, then I found these and they are great. They are smooth and durable, I can get a lot of use out of these before I have to replace them.
