I'm always a fan of sets that come with everything you could possibly need, and this screw extractor set is no different. That it comes with extractors and drill bits in a carrying case is a big plus. I do repairs and rehabs, and I encounter busted and stripped screws on a regular basis, so the set has been a godsend. The extractors are long-lasting and sharp, so even screws that are stuck can be removed with ease. An excellent kit to own if you're a professional or DIY. Worth every penny!

These titanium gold plated screw extractors from Cleverool are nice, they are a tool you hope you never have to use. They come with a nice plastic case, so they always stay together. They are corrosion resistant and are about 21% harder than the average screw extractors out there. You get 6 screw extractors of multiple sizes and four drill bits. Simple to use, just drill a hole in reverse then just switch to the extraction bit for easy removal.

I got this screw extractor set for my own personal use and will rarely have need of it, but it's one of those things that when you need it, you really need it. I say this because I can't really comment on how well it would hold up to hard, professional use, but I can say that is good for occasional use, which is what most people will probably be using it for.If you've never used one of these before, you use the drill bit to drill a spot on the head of the screw or bolt and then you use the extractor tool to bite into that hole to get purchase on the screw to extract it.This kit comes with the drill bits and the extractors, so you get everything you need, all in one nice little package.

I have several sets of these and keep them in multiple toolboxes. They saved me more than once. They are well-made and will do the job. Most sets don't include drill bits, so that is a plus. Keep them on hand for when that screw head breaks off and that 10 minute job becomes a 1 hour job........

I am generally wary of cheap tools, the aggravation compared to quality alternatives does not usually justify the lower price. I already own some high quality, more expensive extraction tools but those are larger sizes for bigger screws and bolts. Even so, they don’t always work well. I tested this Cleverool set on #8 and #10 Phillips-head steel wood screws that I tightened into some scrap wood. The extractor bit made a conical hole in the head of the #8 screw but did not budge it. After drilling a deeper hole with a drill bit, I could work the screw loose. The same technique on the #10 screw also removed it. The results were better than I expected although not as good as I would like. I have done about as well simply drilling into a screw with a left-handed drill bit but those are hard to find. I’ve also sometimes simply drilled completely through a stuck screw and pried the remnants out. The Amazon posting tells you which bit to use with different size screws but this information is not included in the kit, it would be nice if it was. This is a handy kit to have in your arsenal but don’t expect it to work on every screw. Still, if it only works once and saves you the aggravation of more extreme measures, the price is worth it.
