There is a plastic coating on top of the metal blade. The coating will be destroyed after the first use. It does NOT produce a smooth finishing surface. DO NOT BUY THIS.

It costs roughly the same as other in-store retailers. The edge is straight and the handle is sturdy. My complaint is that when skim coating the edges bend when the handle is pressed. It’s very time consuming to level the skim coat when it is pressed and only the center is touching the walls. Probably okay for taping, but not skim coating. Not practical and wouldn’t buy if given the choice again. Can use for patching it it’s a bit unwieldy.

Worked great on bathroom remodel and cheaper than similar products. It’s not super solid bends a little but good for what I needed.

This was the cheapest 10" drywall knife that Amazon sells when I bought it. Even though it's cheap the quality is very good. It feels good in the hand, maneuvers well and is a little more compact that most 10" knives. Sure, it will rust if you don't keep it dry, but so does any other drywall knife too. If rust-proof is important to you look into stainless steel drywall knives. For me, I only needed it for a small job and it performed well.

I bought this to help cleanly paint around my textured ceiling and it worked alright for the job. The edge isn't exactly straight, so neither was my paint line.

Not Made in USA. The label shows Made in USA, but flip the tool over and above the barcode says China.Update======Received a reply from Allway,Thank you so much for the feedback. Somehow in renovations of three apartments I lost my 30 year old 10" taping knife. I expected to pay $25-30 for a replacement so was pleased to see this one on Amazon. It is a nice sturdy piece of metal...very nice quality. I used this a couple weekends ago to apply a skimcoat to about 2000sf of surfaces and it performed beautifully.
