Great size for ladling gravy, soup, sauce from smaller sauce pans! I didn't realize what I was missing, highly recommend!

These are about half the size of a typical single ladle full for a cup of soup, but perfect for a side of salsa, sauces for main dishes, or for quick measured cooking. It probably won’t hold up well in direct heat of cooking or being left in a steam table. The different colors are handy if you color code for quick identification as is necessary for different cooking liquids that may look similar. The shape works well for slender, tall containers - easy to scoop straight up, but has difficulty reaching bottom corners. The bowl helps with neat pours. There is a little flex in the handle, so it might not be feasible to stir up anything too thick.Very useful for smaller portions.

Not flimsy & thin as some have said. They're sturdy & quite nice. My biggest concern is what type of plastic this is, which for some reason isn't being dislosed. Are these toxic? Is that why no disclosure? Melamine & some other plastics leach toxins when heated. Are these melamine? This is why I'm not giving 5 stars.Other than that, I like these ladles. They're smaller, as many have complained about, but that was made clear in the ad. Some people WANT smaller utensils! Smaller makes it easier for kids to help & learn to cook. Small is great for college dorm rooms, RV's, tiny homes & apts w/ very little space. Small is also great for minimalist cooking like meals in cups (it's a thing!) & portion control. But I had another use for these & the 4 different colors was part of the function I needed. I needed something that would fit inside the food containers I had for 4 pets that need different foods for health reasons. 1 needs portion control, 2 need different special needs food, & 1 uses normal food. These ladles would keep it clear which one goes to which pet since there are 4 colors. I can easily put a dot on the inside of each pet's own colored ladle that shows how full to fill it for that particular pet, & the handle helps me reach the bowl even when an enthusiastic pet sticks a head in the way. But I only got 3 colors. My pkg didn't have the pink ladle. 4 different colors were needed for my purpose. But for other people, the pink one makes the set pop & look so pretty together for hanging on hooks or sitting in a cannister on the countertop. I like the colors, but since I don't have the pink one, I can honestly say the pink one is essential in making the set so cute & not drab looking. So my 3 color set is a bit of disappointment in usefulness for me & is somewhat drab too.Now for the big question: how much will these hold! Exactly 1/4 cup! These are 2oz ladles. The bowl is somewhat elongated across the width for pouring & they're pretty much perfect in size & shape for anyone who uses smaller kitchen utensils. They're smooth & won't harm ceramic coated or any other kind of non-stick coated pots & pans. Sturdy, well shaped, cute, & w/ the exception of questionable unknown plastic material & possible unknown toxins, they're perfect small ladles. Wish mine had come in all 4 colors & had some indication of what the plastic is made from. But since I won't be using them for heated food, they should be safe w/o leaching toxins like some heated plastics (melamine!) do. I chose the small set on the 2 buying options. Pay attn to the measurements shown for the 2 size options & you won't be surprised by what you get. I think the complaints about sizes in other reviews is buyers not paying attn to what's shown on the ad & an unfair complaint. The unknown plastic is completely undisclosed & a legit complaint tho, & there are many complaints about that. So buyer beware!
