The hat hoop did an adequate job of holding the hat brim in place.BUT, the guide's center marking hole is off by 1/2 inch compared to the center marking hole of a Brother standard 4x4 inch hoop.Expect to use this on a 3x3 inch or less logo, label or other artwork.BTW: this works better on a 5-panel cap than a 6-panel cap because of the front center cap seam.

The ad on Amazon where I bought it says it fits SE1900 hoops but it ONLY fits the 4x4 hoop AND it fits UPSIDE DOWN. I didn't realize it goes in upside down but the directions say it'll also fit the 5x7 hoop. In the 5x7 hoop there's no way to attach stabilizer as it just flops around loosely inside the hoop. The video that accompanies the product does not even show it embroidering or using a hat hoop! I was stupid to not try it when I bought it. Lesson learned! I'm just now trying to embroider a hat for the first time and what a surprise. I embroidered my 2 hats for work and it can only be embroidered 2 1/2" high up away from the brim as the embroidery arm HITS the side of this hoop and distorts the design. When it's high enough it's OK. Up that high looks kind of funny. I won't be using it again.

I bought this, tried it, broke too many needles to count, and returned it. A month later, I gave ordered to try again. It still was terrible. Doesn't clamp in tightly. It's too big for my 4x4 machine and lining up designs is a total nightmare on it. Save your money and float a hat (pin it to your stabilizer) in your regular hoop instead.

Once I got to learn to use it, it wasn’t so bad, but for being a novice sore, I was at a total loss. How do use this device and whether or not it would be compatible with my machine. My machine is a new brother sewing machine that is an embroiderer so it didn’t have the model number I needed, but I was assured that it would fit and it does pretty good But instructions instructions instructions nothing in Chinese American please

I bought this cap hoop to use with my Brother SE1900’s 5x7” outer hoop and after purchasing and using adhesive stabilizer, it was a success!!The plastic ruler guide included in my order is slightly off center but I was able to score my own marks so no more centering issues.Buy adhesive & water soluable (I use sulky) stabilizer with your cap hoop to get right to work once delivered.

I've used all 4 hoops on my Brother SE1900. Here are my first thoughts on them:They look and almost feel like the original hoops that came with my machine. There is a slightly 'cheaper' feel to them but that hasn't impacted performance or my stitching in any way. I would say that the actual available size of work area is a bit bigger than what the box says. For example, the 4x4 hoop actually has a working space of 4.5 x 5.5 and still leaves enough margin so your needle doesn't hit anything. So when using a digitizing software, be sure to set your software hoop after actually measuring the hoop itself. The multi-hoop (5x12) isn't very sturdy and flexes a lot when working with it. So it can be awkward (but not impossible) at times to hoop fabrics and keep them aligned. The small oval hoop is great for doing logos and works perfectly on my machine. Everything lines up great and the only issues I had was trying to tighten down the hoop enough to hold things in place when I was using the 5x12 and the smallest hoop takes a little bit of maneuvering to attach to the machine. I basically have to put the lower hole on the arm first and then the upper. Other than that, these are great and absolutely love the price!

I've only used one of the hoops so far, but it worked perfectly. I couldn't tell ANY difference between it and the manufacturer's version (which my husband had bought at a local sewing shop for $98) (that's for ONE hoop!).
