This meter is ok. It's very basic. By that I mean that there are no options other than to specify when the backlight comes on, and whether to hold the min or max value. If all you're doing is looking at sound levels in real time, it's going to work fine. Some of the features I'd like to have seen are:-Customize how frequently it takes each sample-Provide BOTH min/max - you can only do one or the other for a given sampling period-Some sort of average or time weighted average along with the min/max-A delay option for the min/max-Timer to take samples for a specific period of time, then display the average/min/max.For basic readings, it's fine. With the digital only display and no "analog" equivalent, it's hard to really assess overall noise level in environments that are frequently fluctuating.

This XRCLIF Decibel Meter Digital Sound Level Meter seems to work just fine. It comes with batteries so you don't have to worry about that. It is sensitive and seems to be working, I just don't have anything else to test the accuracy of this device with. This device has a very fast response rate too. I tried testing it with my phone and an app, but this thing registers faster than my phones app could. So the response is super fast. There is a built in min and max function which is nice since it reads and displays so quickly.
