I am in close proximity to patients when taking radiographs. I was skeptical of these glasses so I took an X-ray of the glasses. I was surprised to see the lenses radiographed mostly opaque so they do block radiation. I’m really happy with them.

Although my shipment came with glasses that appeared as though they may have been pre-owned/shipped out to another customer before they were shipped to myself, they are very sturdy and extremely well made, somewhat weighty (they come with an elastic fabric glasses secure so they don’t slide off your face) and with a nice hard shell case, product card (mine was covered with oil or something of that nature) and microfiber cloth for lens cleaning care.

I am most impressed with the Veingram X-ray Radiation Protection Glasses Lead Eye Glasses with Side Shields I ordered to protect me, along with a lead gown, from incident radiation exposure in my laboratory. I tested these glasses through the simple expedient of laying them on a PDA set to detect soft X-rays and firing. Roughly 85% of incident radiation was blocked. These glasses, therefore, are tops with me in that they add to my lab safety under difficult conditions.A pure win!An STG Synergies BTN Enterprises Review!

I got these to protect my eyes when dealing with radioactive test sources. They block radiation well. Image is clear through them, without any magnification. They don't fit great. Temples don't open a lot so the frame bends when I put them on. I was able to put them on in front of reading glasses, and they were adequate.Lenses blocked radiation well. I tested the lenses with an Am-241 source, a Geiger counter, and a gamma scintillation counter and clicking virtually stopped with the glasses between.Glasses weigh 241 g. Glass darkens about 15%, not much or noticeable. Surface swab lead test was negative, so it's well-contained in glass.

Initially I was a bit concerned to find no certification or safety class warnings on the frames or lenses, but after doing some research I found that's not really a thing with this sort of leaded protective glasses. The weight of the lenses is a definite giveaway. You'll also note how they cut out some of the blue light spectrum. The kit comes withe the glasses, a cleaning cloth, a large clamshell case, and a lanyard strap to hold the glasses in place. The frames are adequate. I wouldn't call them comfortable - the frames would have to be a lot more robust to be comfortable, but some pads at the nosepiece would go a long way to make them wearable all day. Overall they feel like they'll do the job.
