There are still plenty of instances where you have to interface older legacy equipment to newer devices. Rather than spend hours and possibly more money making my own yet another time I decided to purchase these interface boards. They are well made and provide the TX and RX channels needed for most devices. I checked the specs on the interface chips and they also have the two other CTS and RTS channels but are not hooked up as most people don't need them. However if you do just hook up a couple of jumpers to the DB9 connector and fly leads to the other side.

The pins on the board I received have RX/TX in reverse order vs. the photo. I was depending on the pictured pin ordering since I ordered these to replace an existing board with that pin order so I could reuse the connector.+1 star because they were cheap enough to justify the extra work I had to do to re-make the 4-pin mating connector.

Looks good but absolutely no documentation is provided, except for markings on the circuit board.The circuit board has 4 marked pins-- GND, RXD, TXD, and VCC. No hint whether RX and TX are outputs or inputs. Tried finding additional documentation on the seller's web site. Nothing there.
