I bought these to set up as a null modem for some testing. They use the oldest style mini USB cord. Photos show 2 cords included. However, sealed package only has one cord.I do not know if that is a one-off mistake or if all packages are shorted one cord. Fortunately after digging around 10 minutes I was able to locate one of these obsolete cords in my junk closet. The devices seem to operate fine. The missing cord was a frustration for me, but many may not have these old mini cords laying around. Most phones have gone to micro or USB-C.

The package contains two USB to TTL-level (5V and 3.3V switchable) serial adapters and I successfully tested both of them. The included cables (2 USB Type A to mini-USB cables, 10 male-female and 10 female-female test leads) are short but just long enough to be usable/useful.There are some minor issues with the printing on the PCB:1.) the labels for the 6 contacts opposite to the mini-USB connector are partially hidden under the right-angle connector and partially hidden by the voltage selector jumper (with the end result being that they are unreadable). I recommend saving a copy of the product image on the Amazon website which clearly shows the description of each contact (there is no documentation included with the product).2.) the label for the "RI" (Ring Indicator) pin is printed on the PCB as "R1" (pretty obvious).3.) the label for the "DSR" (Data Set Ready) pin is printed backwards as "RSD" (that took a moment to figure out). This is entirely a cosmetic issue and the two adapters are fully functional. The 3 pins "PWREN" (Power Enable output), "TEN" (Transmit Enable) and "SLEEP" (Sleep output) are control signals for the FTDI chip and not part of the usual modem control signals on a serial port (see the FT232R Datasheet if you are interested, most people won't need to use those pins).

Works as expected. USB cable and DuPont-type jumpers are a great convenience. Used to program ESP devices and interface with a headless Raspberry Pi.

This USB-TTL adapter works great with Windows 11. No driver installation was required, just plug it in and it works. The 5v/3.3v switch is a nice feature.
