... except Purdy. Have been painting our own house for months, switching between these 3/16" rollers, and the Purdy 1/4". Through many, many applications, we found:This one actually lays a thicker layer of paint. It does sit down, but it's not absolutely smooth. Some texture is visible when examined closely. This occurred with both Ben Moore and Sherwin Williams brands, with their higher end offerings.The 1/4" held more paint but left the finish ultra smooth. Very surprised at the outcome. These are just our results, but the walls were in perfect condition, we gator-sanded between coats, and used in different orders. Even using the 1/4" OVER the 3/16" still left a smoother finish.We have many of each type of roller but this rated 2nd in this regard, which includes above MANY other brands.Neither roller shed at all, and we did experience shedding with most of the other brands.If there are slight imperfections in the wall's finish, this roller may be the way to go!

couldnt use it as it didnt fit my wooster 1.75 sherlock roller frame, so before ordering folks measure the dia. of your roller.

Worked fine leaving a smooth finish on the walls. Cleaning in super easy but since very short nap, takes a little longer painting.
