I really like this tool. It arrived not dull or sharp, put a sharpening on it and it works great, one problem it’s a bit thin, not for parting but it will put small dents in your tool rest if you’re not careful then you’ll have to file the dent out.

This tool is well made, let’s start there.The blade makes no sense, I’ve tried it a variety of different heights and it ends up smoking no matter what. Tried sharpening, didn’t really help. Heat treat and added a small hook shape to one side, works fine now. For the money, annnnnnt

showed up unsharpened dull as a wet mop. Sharpened it on the bench grinder and to be honest its not great, tends to burn the wood more than actual cutting.

It’s really good quality, he didn’t have an edge and wouldn’t cut thru the wood it just burned it. I had to put an edge on so it would cut.
