Ya llevo unos meses usándolo y viajando con él y no tengo ninguna queja. Si necesito más paraguas compraré de la misma marca.

Good value and it looks great. The only problem I had with it was the black cover. The pointy part of the umbrella when closed is actually a screw. It does not look like a screw and there are no indications it would be one. I thought it was a snap on or something. It was hard to unscrew and I damaged the black cover. So remember, the silver cap in the center is actually a screw. You cannot grip it very well, try with rubber gloves.Who would think that an umbrella needs instructions.Good luck and enjoy!

This umbrella seemed ideal in every way for travelling and outdoor shoots ... and it is - Except for the Ribs that hold it together. It's very sad that in an otherwise very good quality build (the material and also the centre shaft which is reasonably strong), Westcostt decided to use such Poor quality ribs.A slight wind even before I could sandbag my light stand, it falls just a few feet to the ground, and I find 2 Ribs broken and twisted very nastily. So while this umbrella may have been made keeping in mind compactness for travel, the extremely Poor quality of the Ribs makes it a no-no. The latter are so fragile you will never know when it gives up on you, defeating the very purpose for which it has been made - travelling and outdoor shoots.Did not expect such shabby quality from Westcott, otherwise I would have gone for a cheaper unbranded Chinese make.

As others have said, this will work fine as a shoot-through.I had a very difficult time removing the black cover. It attaches at the end of each spoke of the umbrella and also at the peak. The umbrella can't be extended when you remove the cover, but I figured that out easily. Most of the spokes came off fine, but a couple of them were stuck so that I needed pliers to remove. I could easily have ripped the fabric during removal. I thought that the top was a snap-in but when I pulled on it hard it broke. I guess it was a screw instead? I don't know for sure. I wouldn't have pulled so hard if the spokes hadn't been so difficult to remove and put me in that frame of mind. Instructions would have been nice. I will use this for a shoot-through but the black cover is going in the trash.

I love the compact size for travel! I was pleasantly surprised that it now has a metal pin in the end of the shaft, so I didn't have to strengthen it with a piece of pencil as suggested elsewhere.I did find it a little frustrating to fold the umbrella to fit back in the sleeve with the black cover on, but I crafted a solution: First, I set the fully open umbrella, with the black cover fully on, upside down on a table. Then, for each tip, I took a 6" piece of white elastic cording (available at fabric/craft stores) and threaded it under the metal spine between the spine and the white nylon fabric, near the tip. Then I tied the elastic cord into a small loop to hold the black cover's metal tip on from the inside. Trim the excess from the elastic loop, and repeat for the other 7 tips. The elastic loops keep the metal tips of the black cover in place by providing just the right amount of tension from the inside. All the tips stay on when folding the umbrella with the cover attached, and even when squeezing it into the sleeve. To remove the black cover, just flip the elastic loop off each tip (the loops stays attached to the inside of the white umbrella) and remove the cover as usual.

I use umbrellas only to light backdrops. I needed an set quickly so I ordered this one not needing the shoot through option. So, This umbrella is pretty nice but the black cover is a MAJOR PAIN. Every time you open the umbrella the black cover comes off of the white satin piece. Not too bad right? Well if you are in a hurry and have to attach 8 little pieces to the spokes x 2 it is very frustrating. Had to super glue all of mine. Its cool if you are going to shoot through 99% of the time. Otherwise look for something else. One last thing, the diameter is not even close to 43 inches. Like their 7 foot parabolic, they take the measurement along the back of the umbrella--kind of like legal false advertising! I just wanted to add to my review. The black cover really doesn't block any light. Look elsewhere if you want to bounce light off.

I have the zumbrella version of this marketed by David Ziser (only it costs twice as much and doesn't include the cover) and it has served me well for two years as I have hauled it around the world in my backpack with a few speed lights and a Justin Clamp. The compact folding size makes it ideal for anyone with space concerns, but it also means that it extends larger than the other umbrellas available, creating a larger light source, and thus a softer light source. This tool also produces very attractive catchlights in the eyes of subjects, and can be used not only as a shoot through umbrella, but also as a diffuser that produces a convex light that is more sculpt able than a flat diffuser. By the way, shooting light through this umbrella is the only way to go--it double the power of your light and allows for a softer quality of light without the specular highlights create by the silver reflective cover. Place your speedlight at the end of the stick (as far from the fabric as possible) to fill the umbrella with light instead of just having a small hot spot shine through and move the fabric as close to your subject as possible, and Bob's your uncle, you've got amazing portrait light. Or still life light. In fact, try just opening the umbrella over a wildflower in a sunny field and amaze your friends with images produced by your ultra portable light tent. Spray it with silicone water proofing and extend your shooting conditions to include Spring in the Northwest. This umbrella really is that great. I just bought two more because after two years one of the spokes was stepped on and is *almost* broken.

The umbrella comes in a plastic bag with a pop close flap and eye hole for hanging up if you're that well organised. It's packed fairly tight in there which brings concerns that you'll never get it back in again.Once out, it opens nicely with cover in place and does all you'd expect it to do. Light is even and clean, and the umbrella itself is light and well made.I'm glad to report that at the end of the day, it folds up neatly and does fit back in the bag with a little care.Very happy with this and just waiting for the ability to take good photos to be delivered separately.
