It took me 3 hours to get this installed. Basically 3 nuts and two screws. My original handle broke. It had extended plastic nuts that pass through the garage door. The plastic nuts did not fit on the new handle threads, as they only twisted on about a turn and a half. I checked the thread pitch with a pitch gage, was 13 threads/inch. It was a 1/2”-13. Rather than return I attempted to make it work. I broke out the tap and die kit and chased the threads, which was tedious due to the handle stem not allowing full turns of the die. Quite a bit of metal shavings were created. After chasing, the nuts fit. My my old stem was threaded, and this stem was square and longer so I hacksawed the length and used the bench grinder to round the square edges and ran a smaller die down it….after having to make a jig so I could put it in my vice without damaging the new handle. Got it installed, looks great. Way too much effort for something so simple as getting threads correct (quality control). This product, if it comes with the same thread issues is not for someone without a die set, lots of elbow grease, patience and the will to win. I did not find a model of Wayne Dalton brand that had threads on the stem so I had no choice.

The garage door did not fit. The mounting bolts would not screw on to the handle to hold in place. Junk.

Functional as a lock. Came with no instructions. Luckily not too hard to figure out as I had to cut my old one off.

I wish it comes with the right screws. The lock does not comes with any screw at all. Going around to the different hardware stores to find the right screws consumed so much time. Once I got the right screws, the rest of it was easy.

I needed to replace the original Wayne Dalton handle that came with garage door. Handle fit was good….with the exception of the threads.Nuts/ studs that went through the door to attach to handle was plastic, so I was able to make it work.
