Required modification to i.d. to fit - shaving off graphite - to fit honda crv rd7 exhaust manifold to cat. Walker do note this as their part number FYI. An OEM would be easier to work with.

Replacing catalytic converter after the original part was stolen from my 2004 Honda Element EX. Used Walker 31531 for gasket between exhaust manifold and catalytic converter (I used Walker 53478 aftermarket cat) and Walker 31378 for downstream of the catalytic converter. This part, 31531, as mentioned by the other reviewers, only works by scraping the inside graphite material with a knife. The gasket would not fit onto the exhaust manifold until the graphite had been scraped down to around the level exposing the internal metal wire. This took a while and is messy. Despite this issue, it appears to work OK so far without any significant leak for ~1500 miles. I don't believe this scraped internal area is a crucial sealing surface for the flange. I would also note that with the simple plastic bag packaging, it's possible some customers may have the soft graphite surfaces marred by other items in the box during shipment.

The inside diameter is too small to fit over the outlet on the exhaust manifold of my Honda Element. This was impossible to fit without filing and sanding the ID to make it larger. I had to remove so much material that I was filing into the wire core. And seals of this type don't like being handled a lot, so it started cracking. I don't think this will last at all. I'm looking for a replacement already. What should have been a straight forward 20-30 min job turned into an hour and a half of figuring out why it didn't fit, and then carefully filing and rechecking repeatedly until it did fit. If I didn't need this done so desperately late last night I would've just thrown this in the trash and.

I ordered this because my catalytic converter was stolen and I opted for the bolt on converter and pipe (1 piece). I installed all the parts in an 03 Honda Element. Install was easy for this part. Walker part # 31378 is for the downstream (after Cat) and p/n 31531 is for the upstream (after manifold. Upstream required some scraping inside the gasket/donut to make it fit. Also the upstream part is not the same as pictured.Overall very happy with the parts. These are way cheaper than the OEM, this part just requires some modification to get in.

Full disclosure--I didn't buy this gasket with long-term plans in mind. I needed a gasket quickly, since the OE gasket was backordered and was going to take a couple weeks to ship.This gasket was much more difficult to install compared to the OE Honda gasket. It's internal diameter is a few mm smaller than the exhaust manifold outlet, making it almost impossible to install without deforming it in some way. The resulting seal was somewhat compromised, but it got me through the span of time until the OE gasket arrived.It's also worth noting the photo of the gasket does not match the received product, but that may be the fault of whoever created the listing.

Works for manifold to cat down pipe on 2007 Honda Element LX 2WD with a bit of tweaking. Specifically, it requires a little scraping out of inside material as the inside diameter is a little small for the manifold pipe. This wasn't a big deal. I used a utility knife and took my time. It just took a few minutes to get it just right. Just don't scrape out too much material and expose too much of the wire mesh underneath. Either way, if you do take a little much I'm pretty sure the spring bolts will put enough pressure on it to seal everything up just fine. If you're worried get two in case you screw up.
