The early years were spent making cavalry sabers and officer swords for the U.S. army during the War of 1812 and the Civil War. In 1864 the focus moved from swords to edged tools, knives, and the signature brick trowel we know today. W. Rose brick trowels are still manufactured near Philadelphia. The trowels that helped build America are still made in the USA.

Undoubtedly a good trowel but not suited to me. The low lift handle and lightness will certainly ease discomfort for many but to me it leaves the trowel lacking control, balance and feel and my speed was noticeably down when using it. Glad I tried it but a Marshaltown 12 inch London has far better feel and balance. Better handle too. Weaker hands and wrists, or less experienced brickies, I think will prefer the Rose.

Feels okay but very flimsy, have same trowel in 10 inch from another website and is much better quality than this one

I love that this is the low lift handle style, much more comfortable on the wrist to work with for longer amounts of time. Also the handle is great, love that old looking plastic. Only note I would say is the blade has a bit of a toothy ground finish to it, but give it a light sand and it’s plenty smooth

Best trowel I've ever in 25 years of being a bricklayer. Great length and girth certainly helps do the job properly.

Rose are the best trowels you can buy. When you pick them up they feel as a part of you. You want to use them.

This is the best trowel made. Far superior to those coated trowels available in the big box stores. Sure it costs a lot, but once you compare these trowels to any others, you’ll see it’s worth it. Very easy to keep perfectly clean every day.

This is the Alpha of masonry trowels. Well built and lightweight. Blade angle makes spreading mud more efficient.
