This is a really good rack for small spaces. I have a 7ft ceiling in my basement and this is the perfect size. It seems like it is pretty stable so far. My issues are that for the price, I don’t appreciate having a few of the pieces pretty scratched up. It was pretty simple to build, but the instructions could definitely be better. The assembly is shown in two parts and if it was shown in more steps it would have cleared some things up. A tip, only tighten the bolts half way at most until the end because some of the pieces will not line up with the holes later on.

If you are thinking about getting a rack for your home gym, this is the one to get -- especially if you don't have the ceiling height for a full power rack. This rack is extremely study, doesn't need to be drilled into the floor, and looks great. It's the only design I could find where I feel safe performing squats, bench press, etc. alone, because the sawteeth function as a failsafe (in addition to the spotter arms) if I ever get to the point where I can't complete a rep. I can even place my barbell on the top rack and perform pull-ups this way, since my ceiling is too low for a pull-up bar.My rack had a few flaws upon arrival but the manufacturer response was awesome -- they sent me replacement parts quickly and free of charge. Would definitely order from Valor again and overall super happy with this purchase.

Love it. I was worried about height since this is in my basement and it stills has a few inches of clearance left. My basement ceiling is 76in and the rack is 72in.I will say the assembly instructions could be better. I read one reviewer mentioned that each nut, screw should have 2 washers. That was helpful to know since the instructions don't mention this and you could easily over allocate and find yourself with not enough washers at the end. Also there are 2 plates that go at the bottom on each side that instructions don't mention at all.Assembly aside, once put together, it's a great rack, and I'd buy it again.

To say that this is is merely a bench/squat combo doesn't do it justice. True, it is the very best of both, in less space for less money, especially for someone who works out alone, but it can do much more. As someone who has stopped "exercising" at the health club/tanning salon/cellphone lounge in favor of learning Olympic lifts at home, this rack has given me the safety and confidence to perfect the overhead press as well as the dreaded overhead squat. This design can spot you at nine levels (not counting the huge adjustable safety bars) without getting in the way of learning PROPER FORM; therefore it is better for me than an enclosed power rack or a smith machine, or a single purpose rack which requires you to fail at one predetermined spot. It's easy to assemble, and, if you study the diagram carefully, it's almost impossible to mess up. I had no trouble assembling it by myself, though I did have use of a socket set. You should assemble the uprights first, noting that the rectangular openings face toward the rear; that's why they are not visible in the diagram. I did not tighten any bolts until everything was perfectly aligned. Connect the uprights to the cross bars in the location where the rack will be used; once assembled It does not bend, flex or wobble, and it tends to stay where it is put. Though I knew the measurements, it's still bigger, and better, than I imagined.

Awesome rack! I bought this because I wanted to bench and squat and didn't have the room for a big power rack. It's compact and sturdy and the safety catches are reliable and easy to move from one peg to the next. I feel completely confident if benching to failure. The bar stops right at my chest and I can easily slide right out from under it. I love the sawtooth design as you don't ever have to worry about adjusting pegs if you're benching with someone who needs a different resting bar height than you. The manual could have been more descriptive, but overall wasn't too difficult to put together.

I love this rack. The safety catch limbs adjust to a hight that still allows me to touch the barbell to my chest with a relatively standard bench, and the sawtooth bar holder offers numerous positions to return the bar to without fuss (even if your last rep only makes it half way to where the single set of J-hooks would be on a standard rack). The rubber feet prevent slippage and damage to floors, and the assembly was straightforward and simple. Why 4 stars and not 5? Just one reason, and it may not be relevant to you: The storage pegs are fine for steel plates, but are close enough together that they're awkward for rubber bumper plates - which are typically 17.5" diameter regardless of weight. If you intend to use bumper plates, you'll probably end up doing a lot of fussing to get them on and off a single peg on each side, or find another solution. I'm still extremely happy with this rack and would make the same purchase again.

I've been using this for about 6 months now - I think that's the longest I've used a home gym in a continuous stretch. I've had some giant complicated cages in the past and just get caught up in all the different gadgets and movements. I want something that would be simple to use, not so huge (it's on our back patio and the wife has to "see" it), yet still give me flexibility. This has done all of those things for me - I can do the basic movements - squats, bench press, shoulder press, etc, so I can build my core strength with compound movements. With a bar hanging from the top rung, you could even do some pull-ups with it, but I'd like to eventually get a dedicated power tower.I use it with the Valor DA-3 flat bench and think it's a great combo. I prefer the stability of the flat bench over most adjustable ones. Granted, I haven't tried any expensive adjustable ones.I also use this on my back covered patio and it has held up well in the 6 months time - very little rusting so far. All in all, I'm very pleased and the wife isn't complaining about my new figure!
