Although these are sold as suitable for audio they seem to be either on or off but cheap enough to put in my electronics box for a future project

Lucky there's more than 1 in the pack. One burned out, no problem, replaced it. Second burned out, replaced it. Third one in. I'm using this to control a dc motor and it seems that if I put the motor to full RPM's the Potentiometer burns out. Don't know why, tested the Potentiometer and they are definitely burned out. I'll look for a better product. You kinda get what you pay for I guess.
