I upgraded from a large to extra large BGE and this grill gasket works great. It was plenty long to do the circumference of the grill on both the top and bottom lips, plus I put a strip around the vent cap. I did my best to clean and scrape the ceramic mounting surfaces, but can’t say I did a great job. Fortunately, the adhesive on this gasket is strong and seems to be holding really tight. The grill holds the heat and smoke inside when I need it to do so. I have enjoyed multiple cook-outs since installing this gasket. The ends are not peeling up and the gasket is staying out.

I don't have a green egg but I was able to use this on my offset with no issues. It stuck nicely and seems to be securely in place. That being said I did put this on a new unused smoker lid so it was a very clean work surface. A greasy or dirty surface will probably have different results, So I would recommend using a degreaser cleaner prior to adhering. My particular smoker seals pretty well and I don't really need this for sealing as much as I wanted to use this to help soften the metal on metal contact when closing the door. The tape is soft and pliable. It's a little hard to peal off the backing but not to bad.

Comes in 2 rolls and the hardest part of applying this gasket is separating the paper backing. The instructions say to use a razor to make a small cut to separate the materials. I used my fingernail and it took forever to separate. Just use the razor method, it'll be much faster.The gasket material is felt-like with a sticky backing. I used this product to seal my smoker door which constantly leaks.I scraped the soot off the door the best I could with a wire brush. The sticky backing adhered nicely to the aluminum door. I had to fiddle with the door by bending it inwards using my hands on each side. Be very careful doing this! You'll really put a big kink in the door if you bend too hard. Now it's tightly sealed and no more leaks. Happy with the product.Disclosure: This product was received for free as part of the Amazon Vine Program. Exactly what it takes to re-gasket my large size green egg. Each of the 2 rolls is 5 feet length. Adhesive test appeared to provide real solid grip. Can't wait to fire up the smoker .,.

I am very pleased with this gasket tape. I was a bit worried at first that the stickiness on the baking would not be strong enough to stay in place during and after a cook, but after 12 hours of smoking some food in a vertical electric smoker, the tape stayed perfectly in place and clearly did a significant job of keeping the smoke and temperature on the meat, enhancing the seal by a good margin from where the unit was prior to applying the gasket. I highly recommend this stuff!

Worked really well...on my Traeger. This is easily cut to size if you are using it on a different smoker/grill. I needed to seal the door better on my smoker. Worked perfectly- quickly cut, peeled, and on the first test run afterword it cut the smoke from escaping almost completely. Would definitely recommend if you are having an air gap!

I ordered this gasket set to replace the original lid gasket on our big green egg XL. The original gasket was leaking smoke from under the lid seal and did not want to maintain the temperature very well. I pulled the old gasket off and cleaned up the surface with acetone so it was squeaky clean for the new gasket. I then peeled the tape on the new gasket and worked it around the lid. Although the adhesive tape is not 3M it did hold very well. I hope it stay that way and only time will tell, so far so good. This gasket kit has plenty of length to replace the original and a bit left over. The only thing I with this kit included was a small patch to cover the seam since it is difficult to get an exact tight seam so it has a small spot where the gasket does not touch the mating section. I did another gasket kit and they included 3 small patches to go across the seam for a really great seal. For this I am deducting one star form what would have been a five star product. The gasket material is very good and resembles the original felt type gasket. Thickness is very good as well. When I finished the grill had a good seal and no longer leaked smoke from the lid. Yes - I would buy this again when we need to replace the gasket in the future.
