The spout is made out of metal, not plastic. That’s the good news. The bad news is that when the diverter valve is depressed, you still get a slight stream of water from the shower head. So, it looks good but just doesn’t work as designed.

This spout restricts water flow in open position, causing some of the water to be sent to the shower head. Unfortunately I threw away the box so I can't return it. Money down the drain...Update: I was contacted by the seller who offered a full refund. I was able to remove the restricting rubber gasket and use the spout. I upgraded the review to 3 stars because of the seller's nice gesture, but there is a fundamental design flow with this product.
