How to Install?
This is a list of tools you will need to have at hand when you install braided hose fittings. Most of you will have this equipment in your garage or workshop.
- Bench mounted vice
- Imperial spanners that have a polished face (avoid marking the anodized finish)
- A Fine tooth saw such as a junior hacksaw
- Masking tape
- Pliers and snips
- Hobby knife
- Personal Protective Equipment (gloves and glasses)
- Cloth to wipe off excess oil
Step 1
When cutting the braided hose to length first wrap some masking tape around the hose where the cut will take place. This serves to allow a pencil mark to define the precise position and it also helps stop the stainless steel braid from flaring out.
Step 2
Insert the cut braided hose into the socket using a twisting and pushing motion until the hose reaches the back of the threads inside the socket nut.
Care and attention when cutting the hose will make fitting the hose into the socket a lot easier.
Step 3
Mark the position of the hose against the back of the socket nut. Wrap a piece of masking tape around the hose where it meets the back of the socket. This will act as a marker to check if the hose is being pushed out during assembly.
Step 4
We find it useful to apply a small amount of oil to the inside of the hose and the threads of the socket nut. Then insert some long-nosed pliers to gently open out the hose. There is no need for any significant force to be used.
Step 5
Apply oil to the threads and nipple of the hose end.
Step 6
Carefully insert the hose end nipple into the socket and hose until the socket engages with the hose end threads. Keep everything square to avoid cross-threading. Hold the hose to stop it from being pushed out of the socket.
Step 7
Tighten the hose end into the socket using the correct size spanner. Ensure there is plenty of oil on the threads as you tighten the union. Tighten until you have a gap of approximately 1mm between the socket nut and the hose end nut.
Step 8
Finally, check for any signs the hose has been pushed out. Any significant movement should be investigated.

So far it's been great! Feels like quality—the black nylon braided hose feels really durable, and all the fittings fit perfectly without any leaks. The 15 FT length was more than enough, and the different hose ends (straight and angled) made the installation super flexible. Everything went together smoothly, and I didn’t need any extra parts or adapters.

This kit has the fittings you need for a 4L60E transmission. The fittings are correct for my use. The length is great and will have a little bit extra left over. This kit will make replacing the original line easy.I recommend this kit if you have a 4L60E transmission and are planning on replacing the line as you will have the fittings you need with it.

This complete kit got all the right sizes and lengths right to run oil cooler lines to and from your 4L60e. And the nylon jacket on the hose, may have it's place in some builds that design alternate protection from debris or other hazards that may sever or puncture the lines. Lost cooler line equals lost transmission nearly every single time.As far as kits go, this one will fit and move oil from A to B and back again. However, most people are going to want to install stainless braided hoses or even factory hard lines that will not bleed out if you run over a bottle, or sharp rock skips through the chassis.Again, this kit has it's uses, just chose wisely for your application.

Not much to romanticize about a transmission line kit, but I can say the fittings were all threaded well and everything was packaged nice. I am happy with it.The only precaution I have is the line smells to high heaven. Like it is genuinely rank. Not sure what's up with that, but it's not the first line kit I've gotten in many years that have smelled that way. At the end of the day as long as the hose holds pressure, doesn't leak, and fits, I don't particularly care what it smells like!

This kit was for that guy who wants the leak free lines that AN fittings and braided hose provide. Just a note this is not PTFE style hose. But they were not advertised as such I just wanted to clarify in case someone missed that. When properly assembled these provide a excellent way to clean up old steel lines that have been cut or split over time. This kit consists of all black fitting and all black nylon braid exterior on the hose that look great.Be careful when installing the hoses to not allow them to snag on anything sharp and they should last and look great. I am using these on my truck with a aftermarket transmission cooler and the fittings all had great threads and worked perfectly.All together the kit is exactly as advertised. Had both style transmission fittings and plenty of length of hose for almost any setup. It should work well for most applications as it did for mine.
