protection for new piano

We recently bought a baby grand piano for a church that was recently planted. Things get moved around in the sanctuary quite often and sometimes things bump into the piano. While it was bought used, it looks very nice and we wish to keep it that way. The cover fits nicely over the piano when it is not being used. I'm sure it will protect the instrument from dust over time in addition to keeping the exterior in good shape. The material is nice and thick and reminds me of a thick winter coat. We hope that it helps keep a very nice piano in top shape for a very long time!

I wanted this piano cover to protect it from the random bumps and ongoing dust. With the ongoing dust comes the routine cleaning effort, which I want to eliminate. My kids played piano for many years and got very good. They’re now moved out so the piano is no longer routinely used. This cover makes a lot of sense.I have a residential application but this cover is also good for many situations… music rooms at schools, theaters, churches, restaurants and bars. A cover also gives added protection from the curious piano “expert” who wants to show what they’re made of. Hahaha! The quilting is nice but don’t think of it like the weight of a moving blanket. It’s not. This offers light protection. If a glass is dropped on it, it will likely dent.I like the material as it is smooth and will not retain dust as much as a velvet cover would. On the downside, it gives a “music storeroom” feeling rather than “nice home.” I may get a velvet cover to go on top of this anyway to give a more refined look with the trade off of it getting dustier and requiring a good shake more often.
