i love this soil, before i just had coconut fiber and that did not keep humidity. it would dry out really fast, this stuff is amazing quality and keeps my snakes humidity up, he has been in such a better mood to, always climbing around since we upgraded his enclosure size and soil, so happy about this stuff definitely recommend

I got this for tarantula and ball python enclosures (separate, lol). It does hold well together and have a nice texture, but I have read a lot of reviews and discussions and many people say that a standard organic potting mix is just as good. I got some regular potting mix and honestly they feel about the same, other than the wood chips scattered in the bioactive soil. I ended up mixing half and half for most tanks.My isopods, arachnids, and snakes have already gotten to tunneling and I'm surprised how much they are doing it based on the fact they never did before I switched substrates.Next time I will probably just buy potting mix unless this ends up closer to my price range again.

I bought 4 bags of this substrate to fill my Kages 5x2x2 PVC enclosure for my Northern Blue Tongue Skink. The substrate was nice and slightly moist in the bag, and stayed that way for a couple days when first put in the enclosure. Once the humidity stabilized, the top layer is nice and dry, while the lower layers closest to the bottom are still slightly moist. Since I have a Northern, I didn't moisten the substrate in the bag like the instructions suggested, and I am glad I didn't! this substrate really can hold moisture well, especially with a PVC enclosure. I am so happy with this substrate, and so is my boy! :)

I really this substrate. It might have been a little expensive but I was really happy with what I got. There was enough in the bag for a 36"x18"x18" 50 gallon enclosure. I added in some coco husk for a little bit more texture and to help with humidity. Every so often I go through and "fluff" it up and add in more moisture. I use fake plastic plants but my little Ball python seems to really like it. I love wet earth smell that it has. Makes it easier for me to identify if he has pooped or not.
