About this item

  • Supply voltage range: 2.4-5.5 V
  • High accuracy: ± (40 ppm+5%)
  • Digital I2C interface
  • Integrated temperature and humidity sensors
  • Low power operation to <0.4 mA average @ 5 V, 1 meas./5 min

The SCD41 has high accuracy and cost effectiveness, and the module leads the power supply and communication pins with 2.54mm pitch row pin interface. On-chip temperature and humidity compensation is achieved by built-in temperature and humidity sensors for humidity and temperature measurement. SCD41 enables intelligent adjustment of indoor ventilation system based on CO2 concentration, and indoor air quality helps to maintain a healthy and efficient environment with low CO2 concentration over a period of time.

Solder this to an esp32c3, get Sensirion’s sketch from GitHub, make a handy co2 sensor. Make sure scl and sda are the right pins. I make the led flash when air is too stuffy.

I used it with ESPHome and an ESP32 dev kit. It needs a stable 3.3V power supply otherwise the sensor disconnects sometimes. Make sure to turn off auto calibration. It usually takes couple minutes after startup to stabilize temperature and humidity.

Make sure you read the documentation. By default it re-calibrates weekly, taking the lowest measurement as the reference. Depending on your environment, that may seldom go below 500-600ppm (or more!).
