The AMG8833 infrared camera sensor is an 8x8 infrared thermal sensor array. When connected to your microcontroller (or Raspberry Pi), it will return a set of 64 individual infrared temperature readings via I2C. It's like those fancy thermal cameras, but it's compact and simple and easy to integrate. The AMG8833 offers higher performance than the previous AMG8831. The sensor only supports I2C and has a configurable interrupt pin that can be triggered when any single pixel is above or below your set threshold.

Relatively straightforward to solder on the supplied pins, connect it up to an ESP32, and write a quick sketch to visualize the 8x8 array of temperatures at about 10Hz. Neat little sensor. More resolution would be nice, but that will come in time and 8x8 is what is available at this price, now.

Fast and accurate readings. Drivers available for all IoT platforms I am aware of.

Got this for a student's project, and it works great with adafruit circuitpython code. I like adafruit's design more, it just wasn't available when I needed it. This sensor board has the header pins already soldered, so that's also a plus. Fast delivery, working sensor, I'm happy.
