Haven’t found any reeds better for alto, advertised for classical but suits other genres of playing very well, sounds just like you’re playing a strength 3 but takes less effort

Won’t be purchasing Vandorens for a while.These I bought just won’t make a good seal and play.I’ll stick to Rico, cheaper and more reliable in my opinion and personal experience.

Never bought Vandoren reeds before been life long user of Rico reeds and thought I would try something new reading all the hype. Bought for my tenor sax. I was shocked I kept getting squeaks and had a hard time fitting it to my mouthpiece . Don't know what the deal was. I been playing sax for over 30 years and figure I know how to put a reed on my mouthpiece lol. Sure there some shaving needs to be done do it but when your out performing at a live event who has time for that? I was expecting the reed to be sharp and ready for use after wetting it and even soaked it a bit in a cup of water. Just didn't get a good feel with this reed.
