These stands are not merely a rehash of old designs, but a beautiful blend of vintage style with the strength, adjustability, and reliability of modern construction. In addition, the single braced adjustable tripod makes for easy placement without getting in the way of the hi-hat and drum pedal.

A new version of the old time snare stands..It is much more durable than the stands of yesteryear! Folds away nice and is so much lighter than my heavy duty stands..Highly recommend for bar and small club gigs.

A few things to take into account: first, I play very lightly, so if you are a basher this stand may not be what you are seeking, Also, like others who think the wing nut that prevents totally folding this stand is an issue, I at first balked, I solved that problem by separating the two main assemblies, and placing them in my bag that way. Problem solved, and the memory lock on the upper assembly allows me to quickly put it back together with the assurance that the correct height is set.I actually carry this, the hi-hat and cymbal stands from the same series, and a DW bass drum mounted cymbal arm in a photographer's tripod bag that is about 21" long, I can get away with that because this and its sibling stands are super light and compact. The only thing that I dislike is the leveling of the snare basket. I never can get it to be totally parallel with the floor on the first try, and there are no mechanical features or "tricks" to accomplish that. Still, it's a minor thing that is more than offset by the light weight and small form factor.I am so happy with the Tama Classic Hardware series that I own four complete sets. I also own the associated Tama hardware bags, but have found the aforementioned camera tripod bags to be more convenient and actually take up even less space in my vehicle.

Product is as advertised. I still use Tama stands, drums, and components I have had for 30 years. Always good quality, even the stuff that is not necessarily "heavy duty".

Great stand but unfortunately it doesn’t fold up all the way. Weird design.

Great lightweight snare stand. It is easy to adjust and locks tight with a key and your fingers. A must if you want to travel light!

For smaller and/or lightweight snare drums this is excellent. It’s a little wobbly with my Rogers Powertone sat on top of it so if you have a heavy drum you’ll have some wobble, but as a lightweight and easily foldable stand it’s very good.

Excellent lightweight snare stand, I love the way the hooks clip on and off the rim of the snare.

Almost perfect save for one terrible design flaw. The wing nut that tightens the snare basket extender arm is so large that you can't fold down the stand to a flat position when packing. A different design for the wing nut could have fixed the only flaw in an otherwise perfect lightweight stand. Two stars off because someone who designed this stand was not an actual user or this would have really jumped out at them. BTW, though not designed for it, you can make the legs virtually flat if you so desire.

Tama did a great job with this stand. It's a little over 3 pounds, but solid as a rock. Be aware that when you collapse the basket, it has to be folded outward, not inward, which makes it a little longer if you have a small hardware case..
