My original Idler arm bracket started getting some play in it so I decided it was time to fix it. This installed just like stock but made the steering feel much smoother. I also replaced the Idler arm and pitman are while I was at it. Checked the alignment and it was pretty much where I set it last except pitman are threw the steering wheel off center. Straightened that out and all is good.

I am kicking myself for wasting money over the years buying cheap oem replacement units instead of ponying up and getting this unit. Have replaced a number of factory style idler on my own vehicle and others and am beyond impressed by the immediate difference in steering control of this unit. Sloppy steering components can cause other parts to wear prematurely. I replaced my entire steering system other than the steering box itself. Got an alignment and the oem idler bearing was shot in 3 months. Put another in and lasted about the same amount of time. Finally bought this unit and am wishing I hadn't wasted money on the thin, cast iron, sleeve bearing parts from the factory.

This replacement idler arm bracket is extremely well made and super smooth in it's operation. This bracket is probably ten times stronger than the OEM unit that GM installs on the HD truck series. I am impressed with it's quality and feel while driving down the road. The steering is much tighter and responsive than before, and even better than when the truck was new.
