I looked at Smart thermostats. For myself, I didn’t want to get into Alexia yet because it felt intrusive. So, I bought this same thermostat I had when I put a new air conditioner in 15 years ago. I had to replace the old as the buttons were not working properly. I didn’t even have to replace the wiring. I just popped the new front in and presto! My air conditioner is working fine now.

This thing is useless. I have used this exact same product for the last nine years with problems only occurring in the last two months. I know exactly how it is supposed to operate. It’s tricky, but not impossible. Until this unit… The temperature can never be made exact. The up arrow — even when touched gently — races up to a much higher temperature than you want. Then you are stuck with that one. I know to wait until it blinks to make a change, but the controls are basically useless. You cannot go up one degree; you have to go up three or four degrees. I actually touched the down arrow and the temperature screen showed the temperature going up!I bought this for $33 only 10 days ago. At that point it was an Emerson Climate Technologies product. Now in such a brief time apparently it has been sold (or rebranded) to Supco, and the price has significantly increased.I would suggest that you do not buy this product. Something fishy is going on with the company, and the product itself is junk. I could not contact customer service via telephone or email. Emerson is a HUGE company; they do not care about thermostats. Maybe Supco will, but I am done wasting my time with it.

Easy to install and easy to use. The only problem is that it will not turn on until it's two degrees over the degrees on it. In other words, if you put it at 78 degrees it will not start until the house hits 80 degrees. I mean that could save you money but damn it'll get hot in your house.

I had the same brand and style for years then it slowly went out. So I got this one because they were identical so all I had to do was pull the one off and hooked it to the same mount that was for the old one. Works perfect and I do like the that they added a blue light goes one when your changing the temp!!

Works great. For RV use BE AWARE IT WILL ALWAYS FIRE THE HEATER AT TEMPERATURES 41DEG AND BELOW!!!, even if it is turned off, and even if the batteries are removed!!!! This is noted on the owners manual under "Mechanical Heat Backup". Not so good for us up north where the RV is outside all winter. You must remove the thermostat from the wall to prevent this. To permanently disable this feature you can remove the bimetallic switch from the thermostat. To remove the bimetallic switch, remove the thermostat from the wall/backing plate and turn it over. There is a large silver colored square device soldered to the lower left corner of the circuit board, below where the batteries are. "SW5" identifies it on the board. If you look closely it has "5 C" stamped on it. (Of course 5deg C is 41deg F). You can carefully snip it off where it is soldered to the board, or I just snipped one leg off and bent it up to break the connection but left it there in case I ever want this feature back. This is a good safety feature for household use in that it will still keep the heat above freezing even it the batteries die in the thermostat.

Installed in my Travel Trailer and love the accurate and easy temperature control.Make note of the automatic mechanical freeze protection feature if installing in an RV. It will turn on the heat at 41F or 5C so probably best to pop the thermostat off the mounting bracket & remove the AA batteries if storing the RV for the winter. The wiring remains attached on the mounting bracket.

Installed it in my RV works well other then no fan, high/low switch. So wired it using high fan speed only no big deal. Note Unit works totally on battery power, if batteries die unit will not function. Super delivery time.

When I was converting my old HVAC system from full line voltage to low-voltage digital controls, I bought this thermostat to control the relays I used for the conversion. One of the features I like most is the adjustable "span" that controls the temperature differential between shut-off and turn-on. During moderate weather, you can adjust the span to 1 and the set temperature can be maintained very closely without putting an undue burden on the system. During more extreme weather, you can set the span as high as 3 degrees for wider temperature swings, to avoid the short-cycling that can reduce the life of your HVAC system. Many thermostats don't have this feature.Another feature I like is the blue backlight, which also stops working when the batteries are low to conserve power. And speaking of batteries, I like that it uses AA instead of shorter-life AAA, and I don't have to disassemble anything to replace them because they're right behind a door that swings open from the front. The one design feature I find somewhat odd is the fact that they located the filter replacement reminder reset button so prominently (the small button) on the front, instead of behind the door, but the good news is that resetting the reminder requires pressing and holding the button for 3 seconds to prevent resetting it accidentally. Finally, I'll mention the main reason I was looking for a thermostat in the first place. I already had a Honeywell thermostat that I had bought for my low-voltage conversion, but in testing it I discovered that it was just too sensitive to transitory temperature variations, such as even minor handling of the thermostat case itself. That's something you can't know until you actually make the purchase, and luckily I found that the Supco strikes a better balance in this regard, with a few extra features thrown in. Can you tell that I'm delighted with this thermostat? The whole low-voltage conversion was a bit of a pain, but definitely worthwhile, and even more so because I found the right thermostat.
