This tea comes in a block that is boiled in water. It makes around a gallon. Absolutely delicious hot or cold.

Came as described, it was nice to drink one of my childhood winter teas. Made a decent amount as well.Beautiful flavor, tastes great with lemon or ginger. Or as a milk tea.

Just like the winter melon tea in Taiwan. It's also great with milk. It arrived as a solid brick still. It dissolves pretty quickly/easily.

The tea had a very unique taste and I found it interesting but not something I’d regularly wanna drink. And I am very open to experimenting with different teas. A regular tea drinker even if it’s someone who enjoys rare and herbal teas might find this offputting. Also you should be aware that this teadoes not come in teabags but because it’s in a single brick of tea you have to know how to shave and grind it so if you’re not prepared for that it could be very frustrating.

I like winter melon in soups and love a good summer tea so thought this would be a perfect fit. Winter melon is said to help neutralize and cool the body. This is refreshing in that way, but it's also very sweet. The ingredients are straightforward: sugar, winter melon, and water. So as you add more water to dilute the sugar, you also dilute the winter melon. And the worst part is that this thing comes as a brick--and I mean a brick--that you kind of have to prepare all at once. It makes multiple liters of drink, so I don't recommend cracking it open until you're having a party (or having a night of drinking tea). Were it cubed, I'd rate it 4/5 stars. For now, it's 3.

It says to dilute with 3 liters of water, then dilute it again with 2 parts water. I think the other reviewer missed that part. It would be pretty sweet if you didn't bother to dilute the finished product after you boil it. However, if you diluted it with 6 liters of water and then diluted it with 2 parts of water again, you'd have water. It would be tasteless.I just boiled this in my instant pot with the lid off. It was quite easy to make. I just tossed the brick in the water and stirred a bit. I let it cool a bit, then I stuck it in a 3L container in my fridge. This is where things are going to be to taste. You do dilute it with water, but the amount you dilute it is going to depend on what you like. If you like water, then dilute it 2-1 or more. If you like things that actually taste like something, dilute it less than that. If you want candy, then just don't dilute it. Just pour some out and dilute it until it's tasty to you.As far as how it tastes, well, kind of like honey dew? Kind of, sort of. It tastes like something related to honey dew. It isn't though. Winter melon is also known as wax gourd, and it actually tastes kind of like a cucumber. I guess if you made cucumber water and then poured a ton of sugar in it, it would taste like this. Well, not quite, but you get the idea. Honestly, it's mostly sugar that you're tasting with this. My kids like it, but they are barely diluting it, and probably not diluting it at all when I'm not watching.

This is a nice refreshing drink to have around the home, and despite the convoluted and complicated process to make it, it's still probably much easier than trying to find wintermelon at a local grocery store.Making the drink is definitely involved. You get a single concentrated solid brick that is 370g. You have to add it to 3000ml of water, then heat/cook it, then let it cool and refrigerate it, then dilute 1 parts cooked concentrate to 2 parts ice water, then add lemon juice to your liking. Just the cooking part took me about 15 minutes so this probably works best on the side while cooking lunch or dinner. The next call out is that you will need a larger pot/pan than your average and most common 1.5 quart pot, at least something that can do 4-5 quarts. If the tea brick was easily broken up into smaller pieces then at least I could use my regular saucepan. Finally, the packaging has English and an extra sticker with English instructions. However, there are Taiwanese nuances, like a disclaimer that the expiration date is based on the Taiwanese solar calendar - I'm couldn't figure out what that means, and '18.04.2025' seemed pretty Gregorian. In terms of taste, if you follow all the instructions properly the drink is actually pretty diluted, though the taste of sugar is definitely still stronger and takes from any taste of wintermelon itself. I'm not sure how long the cooked product can keep in the fridge for, but hopefully a few days. Since all in all this makes about 10L of drink, it'll probably take some time to finish up.All in all, this is a type of drink I really want to succeed in North America. I think it's a great idea and really brings the taste of Asia in an affordable, convenient and authentic way. I hope the manufacturer can make changes and tailor this more to the North American market a bit more.
