My kids have done several of these and loved them. This one must just be a bad piece of stone, as it is chipping with each file. Disappointed. Would love a fresh piece.Update: company rectified the issue quickly and my child is happily sanding away!

I love this idea, and I bought one of these eagle kits to try. It arrived with the soapstone blank already damaged with the toes broken off. I ordered a second to replace it. The second also arrived damaged, this time the tail. The blanks are just loose inside the box, free to bang around during shipping. It's no wonder they break. This problem could be easily solved if the manufacturer would just secure the stone in the box.

My son received this for a gift. He was excited to carve the eagle, but his kit came with the instructions for the bear instead of the eagle. I contacted the manufacturer via their website and have not received any response. We might be able to figure out how to do the carving from the photo on the box, but it’s super frustrating to not have the detailed instructions to make this easier. My son is super disappointed.
