The low pressure cap will prevent high pressure leaks and relieve strain on the entire cooling system. Not for hot climates ! As long as you are in the northern half of the USA this should be fine.

I can never find a radiator cap that is 7 psi from a parts store. The curse of being the hotrod guy. Buying online saves me time, and frustration.

Used this on a 90s K1500 4x4 5.7L with factory overflow coolant tank. After installing a new radiator with new upper and lower hoses and thermostat I wanted less pressure in the system. Due to truck being old with high mileage. This 7 LB cap keeps the pressure down vs the factory 16 LB cap. The recovery tank works as it should with hot and cold levels pulling some coolant back in when it cools down. I am also considering using on an old classic V8 car for the same reasons of keeping the pressure down to reduce risk of hose bursts and coolant leaks.
